PrivacyCA

Purpose

Privacy CA provides functionality intended to facilitate the use of Trusted Computing technology. The Trusted Computing Group has defined functional and interface specifications to allow computers communicating on the Internet to exchange information about their software and hardware configuration so as to reach a degree of mutual trust. This can lead to a much greater degree of security for network based software as well as allowing development of new kinds of applications that were previously impossible.

Trusted Computing allows an unprecedented degree of visibility and transparency into the internal operations of networked computers, raising obvious privacy concerns. One mechanism introduced by the TCG to protect end-user privacy while still allowing remote trust establishment is the Privacy CA. This system, privacyca.com, is an implementation of the TCG specification and provides the functionality required to implement TCG network communications while protecting privacy.

See the page on API Specifications for details on how to communicate with Privacy CA and use its capabilities in conjunction with software written to run on Trusted Computing systems.
