Privacy CA provides three levels of certification:
- Level 0 certificates are for testing only and do not validate any provided credentials.
- Level 1 certificates validate that the provided Endorsement Certificate is issued by a known TPM manufacturer.
- Level 2 certificates validate both that the Endorsement Certificate and the Platform Certificate are issued by known manufacturers.
At this time no PC manufacturers are providing Platform Certificates so Level 1 is the maximum supported certification level. In addition, only Infineon is providing TPMs with Endorsement Certificates so only systems which use such TPMs are able to receive Level 1 PCA certificates.
The three certificate levels are associated with three X.509 root certificates which may be retrieved from the links below. In addition, all three are certified by a single, long-term root certificate which is the base of the certification tree.
